Abstract
In the present work, we study the polychaete fauna from four subtidal sand samples from the littoral area of Ceuta, a Spanish city in the north coast of Africa. We recorded 83 species, making in ten of them some morphological and systematic comments. For Chrysopetalum caecum Langerhans, 1880, Opisthodonta pterochaeta Southern, 1914 and Grubeosyllis swedmarki (Gidholm, 1962), this is the most meridional reference in their distribution. Micronephthys minuta (Theel, 1879) is recorded for the first time in the East coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Miscelanea dentata Martin, Alos and Sarda, 1991 is recorded for the first time in the Atlantic Ocean. Pionosyllis dionisi Nunez and San Martin, 1991 and Miscelanea dentata are recorded and redescribed for the first time after their original description.
