Abstract
Twelve common species belonging to the "Cladophora complex" found in the Roscoff region (Brittany, France) are described and illustrated. A double entry table, based upon our observations and literature data (Hoek, 1963, in particular) enables a quick and effective sorting of specimens. Using this table (diameter of apical cells and thallus structure) a specimen will be related to a little group of species belonging to the 12 species described here plus 10 others found occasionally in this region. It will then be necessary to complete the determination by using the comparative tables, keys and illustrations.
