Abstract
Five species of interstitial ciliates, collected on the beaches of fine sand in the Sete area, France, have been studied thanks to an improvement of the fixation and protargol impregnation technics, in order to specify their morphology and to detail their infraciliature with the aid of morphometric methods. These species are: Trachelolophos setensis n. sp., third species of a new genus, described in 1996,Paraclathrostoma gigas n. sp., second species of the genus, Condylostoma longicaudata n. sp., compared to the others species provided with a caudal tip, Metopus contortus redescribed with more details and Blepharisma parasalinarum n. sp. which is compared with various morphotypes of Anigstenia salinarum.
