Abstract
The gastropod Retrotortina fuscata is confirmed as belonging to the family Omalogyridae. It lives among subtidal coarse bioclastic sands in 10-30 m water depth, and ranges from the entrance of the British Channel to the Mediterranean. It is new to the fauna of France, and an old record from the British Isles must be regarded as valid.
