Abstract
A new species of Macellicephalinae (Polychaeta: Polynoidae) from deep-sea hydrothermal vents is described. Levensteiniella plicata sp. nov. is found among the fauna associated with the mussel Bathymodiolus thermophilus, on the East Pacific Rise at 9 degree o50' N. This large species was collected for the first time during the HOT'96 and HOPE'99 cruises.
