Abstract
Qualitative and quantitative analysis of 632 Helicolenus dactylopterus dactylopterus stomach contents show that this species is a carnivorous predator with a restricted range of food (stenophageous). Decapod crustaceans, fishes and pyrosomes are its preferential groups of preys. Cephalopods and polychaetes are respectively secondary and accidental preys. The variations of the feeding behaviour have been studied according to sex, seasons and size of the individuals.
