Abstract
A new species of ophidiasterid starfish, from shallow water on the coast of Oman, is described in the formerly monotypic genus Ferdina. The diagnosis of the genus given by Clark (1967) is amended to accommodate the new species and a discussion and key are provided to distinguish Ferdina from related genera.
