Abstract
This CD-ROM, which was produced by the United Nations Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea, contains PDF files of all 17 volumes of Official Records of the Third United Nations Conference on the Law of the Sea. It covers the 11 sessions of the Conference beginning with the organizational session in 1973 through the signing of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and Final Act in Montego Bay, Jamaica in December 1982. Also included are other documents, such as all negotiating texts, some of which were not included in the original volumes, that chart the evolution of the Convention, giving a full range of texts in order to illuminate the legislative background of the Convention. The CD-ROM also contains the complete text of the Law of the Sea Convention, its Final Act and related resolutions of the Conference and of the United Nations General Assembly. It is divided into the following parts: Official documentation resources; Tables related to the Conference; and Technical help.
