Abstract
    The Colima and the Zacoalco Grabens, which bound the Jalisco Block to the E and to the NE, respectively, make their junction with the Citala Graben to form the Jalisco Triple Junction. The DEM (Digital Elevation Model) of the Jalisco Triple Junction area obtained from a SPOT panchromatic stereopair makes it possible to infer the tectonic development of this area: 1) An old NS trending fault network developed throughout the studied area. The faults which bound the southern Colima Graben are considered as a heritage of this system. 2) The E-W Citala Graben cuts the preceding fault network. 3) The N 135 trending Zacoalco Graben is associated with a detachment fault dipping to the NE and the N 40 trending northern part of the Colima Graben, bounded by the Techaluta Fault, are part of an active fault network associated with the recent development of the Jalisco Triple Junction. The Zacoalco Detachment Fault and the Techaluta Fault parallel the transform and accretion directions of the California Gulf, respectively.
