Abstract
Eighty-seven greater weevers (Trachinus draco Linnaeus, 1758) were caught in April-May, 2002, around Gökçeada Island in the Aegean Sea and examined for parasites. Fifty-seven of the fish were infected with at least one of five species of parasites: Contracaecum fabri (Nematoda), Helicometra fasciata (Digenea), Botriocephalus scorpii (Cestoda), Aspinatrium trachini (Monogenea) and Stibarobdella loricata (Hirudinea), in descending order of prevalence. Twenty-four fish had more than one kind of parasite.
