Abstract
The following species are new record for the Mediterranean algal flora: Spathoglossum variabile Fig. et De Not., Kylinia spathoglossi Børg., Acrochaetium sargassicola Børg., A. subseriatum Børg. and Solieria dura (Zanard.) Schmitz. It is suggested that they have migrated from the Indian Ocean via the Suez Canal in the same way as other species from that region, previously recorded from the Mediterranean (Aleem 1948). The continuous distribution of Caulerpa racemosa and Solieria dura between the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean is established.
