Abstract
    Fish are known to associate with floating objects. In the laboratory, mullet (Liza dumerili ) were observed associating with floating oil. If fish at sea associate with oil slicks and foraging seabirds attempt to capture them, then the likelihood of these seabirds becoming oiled is increased.
