Abstract
The work in this report was commissioned by the North Sea Wind Power Hub (NSWPH) consortium that includes TenneT Netherlands, TenneT Germany, Energinet and Gasunie. The project aims to create the data needed to understand the offshore wind potential in the North Sea area (including the offshore areas of Norway, Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium and Great Britain) for better planning. Multiple area polygons were created for existing, planned, and future offshore wind farms. Time series of energy production were created for each using wind data from the New European Wind Atlas project. This report outlines the assumptions made to (1) create the area polygons, (2) estimate the wind turbine and wind farm wake, and (3) generate the time series. The report also outlines the various scenarios used.
