Measurement Network Flemish Banks
Measuring poles and buoys are used to collect oceanographic and meteorological measurements©
Team Hydrometeo, afdeling Kust
Measurement network Flemish Banks was developed to sample real-time oceanographic and meteorological data along the Belgian coast and the Belgian part of the North Sea.
- Oceanographic parameters are waves, tidal height and water
- Meteorological parameters are wind, athmospheric pressure, athmospheric temperature and precipitation
The network is supported by the Government of Flanders and managed by the Coastal Division from the Agency for Maritime and Coastal Services, Flemish Ministry of Mobility and Public Works. Recent data records and visualisations are available at www.meetnetvlaamsebanken.be.
VLIZ was asked by the Coastal Division to redistribute the data within the context of academic research. After registration access can be granted to MVB download pages. For other purposes or questions contact VLIZ.
