Construction of the InnovOcean Campus on schedule

Added on 2021-01-26
Barely 7 months after laying the foundation stone of the new InnovOcean Campus in Oostende the shell of the six-storey building is a fact. The boards of ILVO and VLIZ visited the site in the presence of the contractor. They were assured that the construction is well on track to move into the new campus in the autumn of 2022.

From the autumn of 2022, the new state-of-the-art and energy-efficient building will form the new operating base for the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ), its (inter) national partners, and the Institute for Agricultural, Fisheries and Food Research (ILVO). The brand-new building on the Oosteroever in Ostend (Jacobsenstraat 1) is intended to boost marine research in Flanders. The construction of the campus involves an investment of 20 million euros.
