LifeWatch Flanders ready for a new start to next level

Added on 2021-02-10
Did you know Flanders has been able to develop a unique set of biodiversity data systems and observation infrastructure? And that these services are consulted daily by hundreds to thousands of users worldwide? This achievement was possible due to the many years (2012-2020) of commitment by the Flemish government to the European LifeWatch ESFRI infrastructure – an ambitious project to support European biodiversity and ecosystem research. The Flemish LifeWatch Consortium is now receiving extra funding to take this infrastructure to a next level.

The new phase of Flemish contribution to the LifeWatch project was started at the virtual kick-off meeting on 5 February.

The Flemish LifeWatch consortium consists of the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) and the Institute for Nature and Forest Research (INBO).
