Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) is a focal point for marine and coastal research in Flanders, Belgium. To strengthen its research capacity, VLIZ is hiring 14 new colleagues in its Research Department. Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) is a focal point for marine and coastal research in Flanders, Belgium. To strengthen its research capacity, VLIZ recruits 14 new colleagues in its Research Department. In the run up to the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, join our multidisciplinary and dynamic team and be part of a new wave of marine research. You will work in a unique institute in which your science will be supported by state of the art data systems and services, research infrastructure, science communication and a comprehensive marine library. Moreover, VLIZ is part of a wide network of Belgian and international marine research groups, opening the door to a successful scientific collaboration. VLIZ is located at the InnovOcean site in Oostende at the Belgian coast. We share our building with the European Marine Board, the EMODNet Secretariat and the UNESCO/IOC Project Office for International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange. VLIZ will also use this recruitment procedure in order to constitute a reserve list for future recruitment of the following profiles: ecological modeller, environmental data analyst/modeller with experience in R, marine biologist/taxonomist, molecular ecologist, marine geologist.
