| Abstract |
In a previous publication we focussed on the description and the study of the zonation of the organisms and their living conditions on a wave-breaker in Knokke. We showed that a certain number of dominant species are situated at exact levels of the wave-breaker, levels that we designated under the name of stages:
1. Algae stage
2. Barnacle stage
3. Mussel stage
4. Tubularia stage
Each of these stages is subdivided in characterised zones by particular associations of organisms. We described these organisms in the first part. We are interested in the second report to define the role of each of the partners of an association, emphasizing the biology and the ecology and the interaction between the different species. |
