| Abstract |
This study is dealing with the structure of Belgian fish trade. The size of the fishing fleet, the landings and production are analysed in a long run view. Attention is paid to the evolution of import and export figures, to the consumption and the degree of self sufficiency of fresh and frozen fish, and shellfish. Next, retailing and wholesaling of landed fish in home ports is analysed. Finally, a description is given of the fish processing economy. |
