Hard-substrate monitoring by using an Artificial Reef Monitoring Structure (ARMS) was conducted in a pilot-study by Flanders Marine Institute in the BPNS in 2020. An ARMS was deployed at three stations, JJ-CD-78, JJ-C8-6 and JJ-C8-1, from May 2020 onwards. The ARMS will be sampled, analysed through metabarcoding and results were compared with traditional monitoring techniques in order to demonstrate the improvement of applying novel techniques.
