Abstract
This solitary ascidian, native of the NW Pacific, was first recorded in 1972 in Cork Harbour where - while not abundant - it has become well established. It was probably translocated on a ship's hull rather than on transferred oysters, though the latter represents the most likely means of any subsequent dispersion in Irish waters. Notes are given on distribution within the harbour, and on biology and environmental requirements.
