Het laboratoire de Physiologie Environnementale et Occupationnelle behoort tot het Département Paramédical van de Haute école Paul-Henri Spaak. In deze groep wordt onderzoek verricht naar de fysiologie in bepaalde omgevingen zoals de ruimte, begrensde omgevingen, grote hoogtes, hyperbare omgevingen, etc.

Het mariene onderzoek van deze groep richt zich in de eerste plaats op de studie van de fysiologie tijdens duiktochten. Verder is er ook interesse in geneeskunde en welzijn in afgelegen gebieden en in preconditionering en training. Dit onderzoeksverld kan toegepast worden op zeevarenden, zeilers, bemanning van onderzeeërs, etc.
