Abstract
EMBRC stands for the European Marine Biological Resource Centre. It brings 12 leading marine stations and EMBL together. These institutes study marine organisms (microbes, plants, animals) with the latest technologies to study our seas. EMBRC wishes to give access to these organisms and techniques to the scientific community at large, including universities and industry. Medicines (anti-cancer), blue energies (fuel made from algae) and many other end-products will be produced from the sea in the future, and EMBRC wishes to facilitate these discoveries.
