Conference of the European Ecological Federation on the theme 'Ecology at the Interface: science-based solutions for human well-being' announced
The European Ecological Federation cordially invites you to the 13th EEF Congress, that will take place in Rome, Italy, from 21 till 25 September in 2015.
"Ecology at the Interface" focuses on interactions at all biological levels, from membrane exchanges to food web dynamics, in addition to physical ecotones, from deep sediment-bottom water to land-atmosphere, and disciplinary ecotones linking ecology to sociology, economics, law, technology and other fields of knowledge concerning daily human life. In this expanded field of interest,Ecology is called to boost the exchanges at the interface of fields of knowledge defining context and thresholds of both 'development' and 'sustainability'.

7th Conference of the Ecosystem Services Partnership
The 7th Conference of the Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP): “Local action for the common good", will be held in Costa Rica 8-12 September 2014.
In addition to the ESP working group sessions, the conference will present examples of Ecosystem Services practices in Community Based Ecosystem Management from several EU funded projects in the region.
Local organiser is Fundacion Neotropica in collaboration with CATIE, Universidad Nacional and IUCN-CEM Meso-America.

BiodivERsA draft stakeholder engagement toolkit
BiodivERsA aims to improve cooperation between scientists and stakeholders by establishing best practices for engagement (task 2.1); this is being achieved by developing a toolkit that will support research project teams to better plan and engage with non-academic stakeholders, including policy makers.
Following several phases of consultation and development, the toolkit is now close to completion. In order to ensure it is fit-for-purpose and the content is effective in achieving its objectives BiodivERsA are seeking further comment on the final draft of the toolkit. They welcome input from potential users, including stakeholders and stakeholder groups, on how the document could be further improved before final publication.
The consultation is open until February 16th, 2014.
