20 years of experience in water quality assessment, aquatic biology, environmental impact assessment, water management and training. He is also an expert in the use of ecological and water quality models and he has used such models as tools for water management.The implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive has been a major work area for Mr. Dannisøe. With a DHI team, he has been drafting the first Danish interpretations of the directive and he has since 2000 been working on developing IT-tools with focus on the implementation of the directive. Further, Mr. Dannisøe is the web-manager for a DHI page on the Water Framework Directive. He is presently involved in implementing the WFD in Hungary through the first complete ecological survey of all Hungarian surface waters, where he is the macroinvertebrate specialist.
