This conference is very timely in that it will coincide with the launching of the forthcoming Horizon2020 and it will hence represent a good opportunity to know more about themes covered by the programme. It will also highlight WFD implementation developments as well as climate change adaptation in the light of river basin management planning. A focus will be made on water security issues, in particular within a workshop which will include discussions around CBRN substances.
