THESEUS Science meets Policy event 18 October 2013

Added on 2013-09-30 15:46:12 by De Pooter, Daphnis
During the past 4 years THESEUS combined findings from 8 study sites and developed a Decision Support System (DSS) for sustainable decision making, specifically applied to these sites. On the final conference, on 18 October 2013 in Brussels, coastal engineers, sociologist, ecologists and economists share their findings. Interested scientists and policymakers still can subscribe to participate.
At the THESEUS final conference in Brussels, policymakers will become familiar with the THESEUS DSS which allows them to rapidly assess the efficiency of socially, economically, ecologically and engineering based mitigation solutions on different coastal hazard scenarios. Moreover they will participate in small working groups to discuss burring issues on coastal protection, the results of which will be bundled in a concept paper to be submitted to the European Commission.

The final conference is organized by the University of Bologna (Italy) in cooperation with the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ). Venue is the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, Rue Vautier 29, 1000 Brussels. More information on the programme and registrations on:
