Biofouling

Definition of Biofouling: Biofouling or biological fouling is the undesirable accumulation of micro-organisms, plants, algae, and animals on submerged structures e.g. measuring sensors or ships' hulls. If biofouling occurs on the surfaces of living marine organisms it is called epibiosis. This is the common definition for Biofouling, other definitions can be discussed in the article
