Abstract
Two new Mycalina (Porifera: Poecilosclerida) are described from the south-western Atlantic, collected during Programme REVIZEE (1996-2002)—South Score, off the São Paulo State coast, Brazil. Esperiopsis bathyalis sp. nov. is characterized by the possession of two well differentiated categories of sigmas, the smaller ones being sigmancistras. Hamacantha microxifera sp. nov. is set apart by its possession of abundant small microxea-like raphides, diancistras 100-150 µm long, and absence of sigmas.
