Abstract
The distribution of Cerastoderma edule in the Baltic was studied and proved to be wider than previously recorded, extending into waters with salinities as low as 10-11 %o. The absence of the species in Danish fjords at salinities of 11-18 o/oo is discussed. New records of C. lamarcki on the open Skagerak coast and in the Danish Waddensea are presented and discussed.
