Marine Regions, towards a standard for georeferenced marine names [MRG] Through the website MarineRegions.org a> it is now a piece of cake to locate easily for the whole world the Exclusive Economic zones (EEZs) and many marine places.
The "Marine Regions" system combines the data and information from both the VLIMAR gazetteer (place names) as MARBOUND (polygons for sea areas). Both global data systems have been developed by the Flanders Marine Institute, and have proven their value for many users. By combining both systems, the users will be better served. |
