Jongerencontactdag 2005

The fifth edition of the VLIZ Young Marine Scientists' Day took place on the 25th of February 2005. On this day, professionals and young marine scientists' met each other in Brugge and showed the multidisciplinary nature of the marine research in Flanders. The audience and a professional jury voted for the best scientific poster. The winners of the VLIZ Thesis Award Marine Sciences and the North Sea Award were given the floor to present. In the following you find all the winners, abstracts, posters and pictures.

Poster award - Public jury:

North Sea Award 2004:

VLIZ Thesis Award for Marine Sciences 2004:

Griet Neukermans - 'Remote sensing of mangroves in Gazi Bay (Kenya) with very high resolution QuickBird satellite imagery: automated methods for species and assemblage identification' - [Thesis]

Dioli Ann Payo - 'Molecular systematics and cryptic diversity of the genus Dictyota (Dictyotales: Phaeophyta) with special reference to species occurring in the Philippines' - [Thesis]
