This is a rather short article on a topic of considerable practical importance. It could usefully be expanded. Some figures showing the principal mechanisms of cliff failure and methods of toe protection and cliff drainage could be included and some links to practical case studies found. There is only one reference and no further reading, both of these need to be expanded.
