During the detailed study of the algal vegetation of the Zeebrugge pier in 1977-78, 45 taxa were identified, of which 4 Cyanophycea, 18 Chlorophycea, 8 Phaeophycea and 15 Rhodophycea. A species list with remarks on ecology and phenology is provided.
