Eduroam
Eduroam stands for education roaming. This is a wi-fi infrastructure available at the InnovOcean site. The system enables members of organisations using eduroam to easily gain access to the Internet.
What do you need?
- A computer with wireless network access which supports WPA2/AES encryption
- The login and password of your institution (for VLIZ/InnovOcean: <first name><first letter of last name>@vliz.be)
- Configuration of the eduroam network on your computer
How can I connect?
The configuration is as follows:
- SSID: eduroam
- Security protocol: WPA2
- Encryption type: AES
Other organisations can use other configurations. You can find these on the local eduroam website of the organisation.
To log on by means of your vliz.be-login at eduroam, the following authentication method is to be used:
- Authentication type: PEAP
- Authentication protocol: MS-CHAP-v2
No additional software needs to be installed for Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X 10.6 and iPhone. Select the ‘eduroam’ network and fill in your user name and password if the login window appears. If a message appears with regard to the certificate, just click on the link.
More information on Eduraom can be found on www.eduroam.be or www.eduroam.org.
Eduroam users in the InnovOcean site need to comply with the Belnet eduroam policy.
