VLIZ Marine Science Day 2018

The VLIZ Marine Science Day has become an established event for all marine and coastal scientists in Flanders and its neighboring regions. On Wednesday 21 March 2018 we would like to welcome you in MEC Staf Versluys in Bredene for a fascinating program, full of presentations and demos on the latest research and initiatives.

Meanwhile all details on the program are known and made available via the website of the VLIZ Marine Science Day # VMSD18.

In addition to 20 pitch presentations by young marine scientists and 5 by post-docs from the most diverse research disciplines, an extensive poster session is on the program. The public can also opt for the best speaker and poster. The coffee and lunch breaks offer the opportunity to visit the demo stands by marine companies and scientific institutions, and to network with the other participants.

As a keynote speaker in the morning we welcome Veerle Huvenne, a Flemish scientist active in a top institution abroad (National Oceanography Center, Southampton). She will talk about her multidisciplinary research and latest discoveries in the deep sea with high-tech marine robotics.

The plenary afternoon session of the VLIZ Marine Science Day seemed the ideal occasion for presenting the details of the recently launched VLIZ research framework to the broader marine research community in Flanders. All laureates of the VLIZ scientific awards will get the floor to pitch their award-winning research.

Are you convinced that you have to be there as well? You can register for the VLIZ Marine Science Day by the online registration form.
