Abstract
Shell remains of two different species of bivalves: Glycymeris nummaria and Chambardia rubens arcuta were found in a Late Chalcolithic bell-shaped pit during a salvage excavation in Yehud-Lugano. These shells did not show any traces of manipulation but they arrived to the site from respectively the Mediterranean Sea and the river Nile.
