Abstract
    Pionoconus koukae n. sp. from Oman, Pionoconus arafurensis n. sp. from Northern Australia and Pionoconus rouxi n. sp. fromWestern Australia, are named. Pionoconus vinctus (A. Adams, 1854) and Pionoconus barbara (Brazier, 1898) are reinstated as valid species. Those five species are included in the genus Pionoconus and belong to a group of similar or closely related species including also Pionoconus achatinus (Gmelin, 1791), P. monachus (Linnaeus, 1758), P. nigropunctatus (Sowerby II, 1857) and P. striolatus (Kiener, 1845).
