Platform for marine research

A tripode is a frame used to mount measuring devices. The tripode is frequently used for a longer period of time and is set up on the seafloor. Mainly, this instrument is used to place oceanographic instruments on or in the frame. Mounting the acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP), for example, allows the monitoring the ocean circulation.
