Abstract
This thesis presents a sensitivity and uncertainty analysis in the calculation procedure to compute the economical flood losses from the maximal water depth during a flood. The study was carried along the Flemish part or the river Dender in Belgium and was based on a method, proposed by Vanneuville et al. Different simulations have been made for floods with a return period of 1,5 and 100 years to compute the economical flood losses. Uncertainty of 20 %, 5 % and 4 % on the final damage costs were found due to uncertainties on respectively the mode led water stages, the Digital Elevation Model and the stage-damage curves. Also, a methodology to implement the secondary reducing effects within the existing calculation procedure has been developed.
