Deze database bevat concentraties van organochlorides, PAKs, organohalogenen en "nieuwe" pesticiden gemeten in water, sediment < 63 µm en biota. meer

Concentraties van organochlorides, PAKs, organohalogenen en "nieuwe" pesticiden werden bepaald voor:
  • water, biota en sediment < 63 µm in het Schelde-estuarium, Belgische kusthavens en Belgische kustwateren. Sedimentstalen werden genomen met een Van Veen grijper, terwijl het water bemonsterd werd met een Niskin of Go Flo fles.
  • de polluentenmix geabsorbeerd uit het water door "passive samplers", die werden uitgezet in de drie kusthavens, voor minstens 6 weken. "Passive sampling" vormt een krachtig hulpmiddel bij het meten van deze hydrofobe stoffen door hun affiniteit voor deze substanties. Hydrofobe contaminanten zijn vaak moeilijk te detecteren mbv conventionele staalnametechnieken, omwille van hun lage wateroplosbaarheid. De opname van hydrofobe contaminanten wordt gedreven door diffusie. Omrekening naar de waterfase is mogelijk gebruik makende van opnamekinetica en evenwichtsconstanten.
  • biota onderworpen aan bioassays in het veld of in het laboratorium.
  • mosselen en oesters gekooid in de Spuikom van Oostende en in de haven van Zeebrugge.
