Leuckartiara cf octona medusa from Florida, Western Atlantic
Leuckartiara cf octona medusa from Florida, Western Atlantic
Description Note that this medusa deviates from typical Leuckartiara octona as found in the north-eastern Atlantic: it appears larger, has an intensively yellow gonad region, and the small marginal bulbs taper into small tentacles (typicall they have no tentacles). Also the tentacle number is at the lower limit for a mature L. octona (8-23).
It is well possible that this medusa represents another species than L. octona.
