Two genera, 12 species and one species complex of the polychaete family Glyceridae are described and figured from the North East Atlantic and Mediterranean. Diagnostic taxonomic features are described and keys to genera and species are included. Material from other parts of the world is also considered where relevant to the taxonomy of the species concerned. Of the 12 recorded species, one is reestablished for European waters after submersion in synonomy, a species complex is described and two new species are erected.
