The nereid worm from the Caspian and Azov Seas has been examined and compared to those from other localities.
It is concluded that this nereid is Neanthes diversicolor.
Specific characters of N. diversicolor are described. The ecology, synonymy and geographic distribution of the same are briefly discussed.
A key to species of Nereidae of the Caspian, Black and Azov seas is given.
