1. The presence of carotenoids in Copepoda of an intense pink colour--Cyclops strenuus strenuus Fischer--was studied.
2. In extracts separated by means of column and thin-layer chromatography, the following carotenoids were identified: /t-carotene, echinenone, canthaxanthin, astaxanthin, lutein, one unknown carotene and unknown xanthophyll. Carotenoids identified only in young specimens: a-carotene, E-carotene isomer (? ) and cryptoxanthin.
