Participant of COCARDE Network

The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC of UNESCO) is a competent Organization of the United Nations in the field of marine sciences and services. Its purpose is to promote international cooperation and to coordinate programmes in research, services and capacity-building, in order to learn more about the nature and resources of the ocean and coastal areas and to apply that knowledge for the improvement of management, sustainable development, the protection of the marine environment, and the decision-making processes of its Member State.

“Training-through-Research” (TTR) is a capacity-development program of IOC focused on recent processes at Ocean Margins. TTR puts together the advantages of the formal shipboard training of undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students and young scientists with the experiences gained in advanced research.
