SUMANOS Workshop in the framework of the Belgian Science Policy cluster covering the projects GAUFRE, BALANS, MAREBASSE and TROPHOS

The main goal of the workshop was to:

1. evaluate and discuss the efforts of the SUMANOS-projects in regards to their value and contribution to a science based support of a sustainable management and policy for the Belgian Part of the North Sea

2. formulate conclusions and a common vision for the future Belgian marine research cooperation and integration in support of management and policy

 

To reach these goals, the workshop programme included the presentation, evaluation and discussion of the four SUMANOS projects in three sessions. In a fourth and final session, from an overall evaluation of the combined achievements partners and invited experts have strived to privde recommendations and suggestion towards the development of a common vision for future cooperation within and beyond the SUMANOS partnership in view of scientific support for sustainable North Sea management and policy in Belgium.
