Thursday 19 October 2006: MIMAC International Symposium (Brugge, Belgium)
MIMAC: Marine Incidents MAnagement Cluster
This will take place on the 19th - 20th October 2006 at the "Provinciaal hof" in Bruges. At this symposium the results of both projects and the integrated conclusions will be presented. These results will be compared with international research by inviting international experts from neighbouring countries. A special session within the symposium will be attributed to aspects related to the policy of contingency planning and combatement of accidental spills of compounds which are hazardous to the marine environment. Furthermore, the symposium will act as a platform for communication between different end-users of the results (ie. policy makers, coastal managers; industry; NGO's; the scientific community). The presentations of the symposium will be published in the form of a book of extanded abstracts.
