The Renard Centre of Marine Geology is involved in projects dealing with marine habitat mapping and environmental research. They are dealing with the development and application of new integrated acoustical technologies for advanced sea-floor mapping: multi-beam bathymetry, side-scan sonar imaging and acoustical sea-floor characterisation. The development of predictive habitat models based on geophysical and hydrographic data will be of particular interest to this project.
