The location for the VLIZ Marine Science Day 2024 is De Grote Post in Ostend (address: Hendrik Serruyslaan 18A, 8400 Ostend). The venue is located opposite Leopold Park and is easily accessible by bicycle, public transport or car.

Train
The Ostend railway station is about a 10-minute walk away. Cross the bridge opposite the station, turn right briefly, then immediately left, towards the main church (Petrus & Paulus Church). Keep to the left of the church, continuing straight ahead, until you reach the tram tracks. Turn right along here. De Grote Post is 150 metres further on, on your right.

Coastal tram
Trams stop close to De Grote Post - just under 100 metres away - at the Marie-Joséplein stop. From Ostend train station, this is 1 stop by tram towards De Panne.
Bus
Many De Lijn city buses have the Marie-Joséplein stop. De Grote Post is just under 100 metres' walk away. From the Maria-Hendrikapark car park, Centrumbus Line 1 also runs to the Marie-Joséplein stop.
From all areas of the city, buses run up to the station. From here, the distance to the venue is easy to cover on foot, or by tram towards De Panne (from Ostend train station, this is 1 stop).

By bike
There is a bicycle shed in front of the Culture House.
By car
Via the E40/A10 on entering Ostend, first follow the direction Centrum (2nd exit on the roundabout). Drive straight on to Vuurkruisenplein (in front of you you will see the sailing ship Mercator), and take the 3rd exit on the roundabout. At the traffic lights, continue straight ahead.

City car park Maria-Hendrikapark / Graaf de Smet de Naeyerlaan: When entering Ostend via the E40/A10, first follow the direction Centrum (2nd exit on the roundabout). Drive straight on until Vuurkruisenplein (you can see the sailing ship Mercator in front of you), and take the 2nd exit on the roundabout (there is a supermarket on your right). Turn right at the lights until you reach the Maria-Hendrikapark city car park.
The Maria-Hendrikapark city outskirts car park is free of charge. From there, walk for about 10 to 15 minutes on foot or hop on the Centrumbus Line 1 which will take you to the Marie-Joséplein stop (De Grote Post is 75 metres away).
